Preamble
For the film industry to grow in Sierra Leone, directors should play a key and leading role as they are the pillar and bed rock upon which films are made. Their active participation in the film making process is vital if there should be any drastic change in the face of the industry. Their participation can only be possible if they are united and are working in unison.

Mission
To strive relentlessly for directors to realize their dreams of becoming recognized for the good work done in film making/ theatre and in the entertainment industry at large and getting financial freedom.

Vision
We want to make Sierra Leone a hub for professional directors, good and quality films and an envy of other nations.

Aims
To unite all directors of films/movies/dramas and other arts to develop the industry and contribute to the development of the country.

Objectives

• To serve as one of the key auxiliary bodies of the Sierra Leone Film Industry, Labour and Marketing Guild (SL FILM Guild) in promoting the interest and activities in the country and abroad for the progress of the Sierra Leone film industry
• To strive in all ways possible to seek and maintain the DGSL as a union of directors working to be recognized by all stakeholders in the film industry and to negotiate on members behalf, advance individual and group interest and to bargain with any organization or institution aimed at benefitting it members.
• To have in place a forum where members can express their opinions collectively on matters affecting them and actualize things, they desire in the world of film making.
• To provide advice to it members and institute legal proceedings on behalf of the guild and members and where necessary to provide legal assistance in matters relating to film production/theatre conflicts.
• To provide support for the education of its members through training, seminars and conferences at national and international levels so they can be capacitated to make good films and thereafter have access to profiting themselves, the guild and the country at large.
• To promote film making in Sierra Leone and ensure good and quality films are produced so they can be recognized worldwide and win international awards.
• To work in cooperation and collaboration with local and international organizations and institutions engaged in film production and development.
