Screenwriter’s Guild Sierra Leone

Background
For the love of screen writing, play writing, acting, filming and to tell our stories in our own way via audio visual, screen form, television plays and the preforming arts in general, the screenwriters Guild Sl was set to address the socio – cultural unity among young and youths screenplay wright and adult screenplay wrights.
The screenwriters guild sl was founded on the 2nd February 2013 with three (3) membership who are young screenplay writers. Namely: Emmanuel Hassan Kabia, Mariama Mariam Kamara and Francis Turay (Blessed Memory). Now the Guild has a membership of 13 screenplay writers who are registered members nationwide and uncountable screenplay followers.
The screenwriters guild sl is providing trainings, workshops, seminars and short courses on the screenplay development and creative writing, developing a story into the screen or the television.

Mission
The screenwriters Guild SL enhance young people and youths empowerment via trainings workshops, seminars, and public lectures on screenplay creative writing. We tell our stories though filming, the Pen, paper and the television are the weapons the screenwriters use to addresses socio-cultural stories in our environment. We write devised screenplay stories to entertain, educate the populace via the television.

Vision
The screenwriters Guild sl vision to fulfil its mission statement, by telling our sierra Leonean stories via screenplays in Sierra Leonean homes screens and the world in general can learn from our moral stories, appreciate and know about our sierra Lone cultural heritage via filming.

We value the opinion of our membership, friends, fans and followers. The screenwriters Guild sl value and respect the traditions, norms, arts and culture of all ethnic groups in Serra Leone and the globe in general. As we are conscious to show a duty of responsibility in our story telling.
